The unusual

BLOW Productions are renowned for getting involved with projects that have unusual technical elements.

BLOW Productions are quick to pick up new technology and are not afraid to try ideas which are a bit left of center. Things which this can cover include:

  • Programming animated characters for window displays
  • Educating people to use equipment
  • Show control systems
  • Shows programmed to run automatically via time code without the need for operators
  • Custom controllers
MYERS CHRISTMAS WINDOW
Myer Christmas windows, 2010 -the nutcracker

BLOW Productions has done the automation and control system for the MYER Christmas windows in recent years.

For this project BLOW Productions co-constructed, designed and programmed the sophisticated control systems for this Christmas icon.

This project used seven universes of DMX and ultilises custom built DMX sniffers, switches, eight different DMX replay units and eight MP3 audio players. All this equipment is triggered and controlled by an Alcorn McBride system with a web interface. This allows for emails to be sent out when equipment goes down and to allow for windows to be remotely reset or triggered from anywhere.

BLOOD ON THE SOUTHERN CROSS

Another example of unusual work was the programming BLOW Productions did on the automated night time spectacular “Blood on the Southern Cross” for Lightmoves.

Three months was spent re-programming this project to incorporate new mechanical effects and automated lighting.

CROWN CASINO ATRIUM

BLOW Productions has done numerous events at Crown Casino in the Atrium space where the three lighting desks are triggered by time code allowing a sophisticated show to run at fifteen minute intervals for fourteen hours a day for six – seven weeks.
